Thank you for sharing! I can often get caught up in the idea that things "aren't good enough" so I don't share. I really needed the reminder to share anyway!
So encouraging, as my perfectionism can make it hard to start and keep going. It sucks to be a beginner, but you’ve encouraged me to remember that I just have to do the work.
Thank you so much for sharing. It is comforting to know that you have struggled through your career... not that I would ever wish that on you, but as one of my art inspirations I appreciate you sharing that journey and it gives me the inspiration to keep moving forward through my own struggles. So thank you. 💖
Great post Anoosha. I don't do enough looking back on my own career - always helps me have a healthy perspective to remember how far I've come, and to see the helpful stepping stones that weren't obvious at the time. Also, I miss the deviantART days! I was making some really embarrassing stuff on there when I look back at it now, but at the time I was having a blast.
For sure! I was putting a talk together roughly a year ago for some college students and saw patterns and connections and through-lines that I hadn't seen before in my career, and it was incredibly validating. Some of those students asked the exact questions I had been asking when I was their age (and some I still have) and it was nice to be able to share things I had learned, and it oddly helped quell some fears/insecurities I am still working through even as a more "established artist". Helped me remember we're all still learning as we go :)

We are always our own worst critic!

I hate being a beginner at anything new haha but that’s how everyone starts! The difference for people who get better is sadly just doing the work 😅

Yes! You don't realize how far you've come until you look back. It's a fun little exercise to go down memory lane!
